Surplus wire buying in Burley, Idaho
The Cassia County seat on the Snake River, serving the hay, beet, potato and dairy ground of the Mini-Cassia area.
Burley and the smaller towns around it are usually called the Mini-Cassia area, a stretch of irrigated ground along the Snake River that produces alfalfa, potatoes, sugar beets, corn and dry beans, with dairies and food processing to match. The downtown has a solid early-1900s commercial block that has been rewired more than once. Material here stays practical and heavy.

Irrigation is the largest single load in the county. Wells, pivots, booster pumps and the panels that control them run on submersible pump cable, USE-2 and heavy feeders pulled through conduit, and a pump change usually leaves a length of each lying on the ground. Farm shops keep welding cable and SOOW cord on hand the same way, and it accumulates until someone decides to move it.
In town, the older commercial buildings along the main streets have had service upgrades that left the previous feeders in a basement or against a back wall. Those are often copper, often in decent condition, and almost never documented, which is why the jacket legend and any shop tag matter more than the length on the reel.
Logistics
I-84 passes a few miles north of Burley with interchanges on the north side, and US-30 runs along the river through town, with a rail line following the same corridor. Farm and plant addresses are grade-level with wide gravel yards that are easy for a trailer and hard on a pallet jack. Beet harvest in the fall and hay hauling all summer put heavy trucks on the same roads, and winter fog along the river limits visibility on an early load. Photograph the material on its pallet or reel, the tag, and a clear shot of the access road and gate.
