Medium and high voltage
Medium and high-voltage cable
The heaviest reels in the yard and the ones worth photographing carefully. Shielded power cable from 5kV to 69kV, in EPR or XLPE, with or without concentric neutral.
Voltage class comes first
Medium voltage starts at 5kV and runs up through 35kV; 69kV and above is transmission class. The voltage class is printed on the reel tag and usually repeated on the jacket, and it is the first thing a buyer needs. A 15kV reel and a 600V reel are not interchangeable in any sense.
Insulation, shield and neutral
EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) and XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) are the two common insulations, and they behave differently in service. Shielded constructions carry a semiconducting layer, a metallic shield and often a concentric neutral of copper wires over the insulation. URD cable is the underground distribution variant, frequently with a bare concentric neutral.
What we buy
- 5kV, 8kV, 15kV, 25kV and 35kV shielded cable
- 69kV and above where it is available
- EPR and XLPE insulated constructions
- Concentric neutral and tape-shielded cable
- Full reels and partial reels from utility and industrial projects
Because these reels are heavy and awkward, tell us the reel size and weight if you know it, and describe how it can be loaded. That single detail often decides whether a reel is worth moving.

What to send
Details that let us quote it properly
- Voltage class from the reel tag
- Insulation type: EPR or XLPE
- Conductor size and material
- Shield and neutral construction
- Footage remaining, and the reel size or weight
- Loading access — crane, forklift, dock or ground level
Email photos to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com or add them to the form below. Either way, keep the tag and the jacket legend readable.
Do you need test results for MV cable?
No. We work from the tag, the construction and the condition you describe. If you have test records, mention them, but their absence does not stop a conversation.
Can you handle a reel that needs a crane?
That is part of the logistics discussion. Tell us the weight and how the reel sits, and we will work out what is needed before agreeing to anything.

Reels in the way? Send the tag photos.
Tell us the type, size, footage and voltage, and send a few photos of the reels, tags and jacket legend. We will review the material and talk through pricing and logistics.
