What we buy

Wire and cable we purchase

Five families of material cover most of what leaves an Idaho job site or warehouse. If your reel does not fit neatly into one of them, describe it anyway — the jacket legend usually tells us what it is.

How selling works

Four steps, no surprises

The whole process runs on information you already have: what the wire is, how much is left on the reel, and where it sits.

  1. 01

    Send the details and photos

Wire type, size, voltage, footage, condition and where it sits, plus photos of the reels, tags and jacket legend.

  2. 02

    We review the material

We read the tags, check the construction against what you described, and ask follow-up questions where the photos are unclear.

  3. 03

    Discuss pricing and logistics

We talk through value, freight and timing. Nothing is committed until both sides agree on the material and the number.

  4. 04

    Arrange pickup or shipping

Once terms are set, we schedule the move around your dock, your forklift or your gate hours.

What to send

Photos do most of the work

A reel tag photographed flat answers questions that a paragraph of description cannot.

  • The reel tag or label. Flat, in focus, with the printed legend readable.
  • The jacket legend. The line of text printed on the wire itself: type, size, voltage and any approval marks.
  • The cut end. So the conductor and insulation can be seen clearly.
  • The whole stack. One wide shot that shows how many reels are there and how they are stored.
  • The footage. What is printed on the tag, or your best estimate if the reel has been cut.
  • The location and access. City, ZIP, dock or forklift, and any gate or scheduling restrictions.

If part of that list is missing, send what you have. We will ask for the rest.

Who we buy from

Idaho businesses that end up holding wire

These are the kinds of operations that accumulate surplus cable. Naming an industry is not a claim about any specific company, and we do not imply relationships with facilities we have not worked with.

Agriculture and food processing
Dairies, grain handling, food plants, cold storage and agricultural equipment facilities that rewire, expand or shut down lines.
Semiconductor, electronics and data centers
Advanced manufacturing, electronics plants and data center fit-outs that end a project holding cut lengths and partial reels.
Mining, minerals and wood products
Mining and mineral processing operations, sawmills, plywood and engineered wood plants running heavy cable in tough conditions.
Utilities and power generation
Electric utilities, hydroelectric facilities, transmission and distribution contractors, and renewable-energy projects.
Industrial manufacturing
Metal fabrication, machinery builders and process plants that stock building wire, tray cable and control cable by the reel.
Commercial construction and facilities
General contractors, electrical subcontractors, healthcare campuses, telecommunications and warehouses or distribution centers.
Demolition, decommissioning and maintenance
Plant maintenance groups, demolition contractors and decommissioning crews pulling out cable that still has value in it.

Idaho coverage

Statewide, region by region

We work with sellers across Idaho. Coverage pages explain what tends to turn up in each part of the state and how material usually moves out of it.

We do not keep a public office, yard or storefront anywhere in Idaho, and this site does not claim one. Wire is reviewed from your details and photos, and pickup or shipping is arranged once terms are agreed. See the full Idaho service area list for every community we cover.

Request a purchase quote

Tell us what is on the reels. Photos of the tags and jacket legend matter more than perfect paperwork, so send what you have and we will follow up with questions.

1. Who is sending this

2. Where the wire is

3. What the wire is

4. Details and access

5. Photos of the wire

Up to 12 images, 12 MB each. Most phones are set to shoot more than that, so resize if a photo is rejected.

  • A wide shot of the whole stack or row of reels
  • The reel tag or label, photographed flat and readable
  • The jacket legend printed on the wire
  • The cut end, so the conductor and insulation are visible

Submitting does not commit you to anything. If photos will not upload, email them to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com or call (614) 715-3047.

Questions

Straight answers

The short version of what sellers ask before they send photos.

All frequently asked questions

What kinds of electrical wire do you buy?

Copper and aluminum building wire, industrial cable, control and instrumentation cable, low-voltage and communication cable, and medium or high-voltage cable. That includes THHN, THWN, THWN-2, XHHW, XHHW-2, MC, AC, tray cable, VFD cable, TC/TC-ER, SER, SEU, URD, USE-2, SOOW and welding cable.

Do you buy partial reels, used wire and overstock?

Yes, we look at partial reels, unused overstock, cancelled-project stock and used cable. Condition changes what a reel is worth, not whether we will look at it. Send photos of the reel and the cut end so we can see what is actually left.

How is surplus wire priced?

Value comes from the conductor metal, the size and conductor count, the insulation and voltage class, the footage left on the reel, the condition, and what it costs to move the material. We review your details and photos first, then discuss pricing with you directly. Submitting a quote request does not commit you to anything.

Do you pick up, or do I ship?

Either can work. Pickup and shipping are arranged after pricing and terms are agreed, and we will talk through dock access, forklift availability, weight limits and timing before anything moves.

Is there a minimum quantity?

We do not publish a minimum, and we would rather tell you honestly than waste your time. Large lots are easier to justify moving across Idaho; small lots can still be worth a conversation, especially when they are close to other material.

Do you buy wire outside Idaho?

This site covers Idaho. If the material sits just across a state line, call (614) 715-3047 and ask before you send photos.

Reels in the way? Send the tag photos.

Tell us the type, size, footage and voltage, and send a few photos of the reels, tags and jacket legend. We will review the material and talk through pricing and logistics.
